This year’s ACHEMT Summer Symposium offers two in-person sessions for a total of 3.0 In-Person Education hours, centered around disruptive innovation and the role that data and advanced analytics have in transforming healthcare. In the first session, a broad perspective of disruptive innovation will be explored with a focus on how business models are leveraging technology to help make products and services more accessible and affordable to the healthcare consumer. In healthcare delivery, disruptive innovations have the potential to decrease costs while improving both the quality and accessibility of care. This panel will focus on the role of innovation in the healthcare marketplace and examples of disruptive innovations that will change lives in health care.

The symposium’s second session will narrow the discussion of disruptive innovation and focus in on the role that data and advanced analytics will play in the future to impact operations, patient care, quality, safety, engagement & wellness, and healthcare costs. Attendees will learn the type of data and analytics that are in use today at health systems, lessons healthcare can learn from other industries, the challenges health systems face in integrating vast amounts of disparate data in real time and how to make the insights useful to the right people at the right time. The panel will also discuss how to optimize existing data and analytics initiatives at their organization.
