When: December 12th – networking and dinner begin at 5:30 PM, panel discussion at 6 PM. 

Cost: $10 for ACHE members - $15 for non-members - $5 for students

This event offers 1.5 In Person education credits.

This panel will focus on nuts-and-bolts career planning for early careerists in the healthcare sector.

Raylene Thompson, MBA, CPXP –

Client Success Advisor, Practicing Excellence

Raylene is a member of the healthcare community with two decades of experience across various sectors of the industry. Her extensive background and unwavering commitment to advancing the healthcare workforce underscore her invaluable contribution to the field. Currently serving as an advisor at Practicing Excellence, Raylene collaborates with organizations across the nation in diverse settings, to enhance healthcare delivery and professional growth. She has a passion for coaching, mentoring, and developing healthcare professionals. Raylene firmly believes that investing in the growth of healthcare clinicians and leaders fosters a ripple effect that enhances team dynamics and improves patient care. A proud graduate of the University of Tennessee Haslam College of Business, Raylene earned her executive Healthcare MBA and additionally holds certifications in patient Experience and Clinician Coaching, further demonstrating her expertise and dedication to excellence in healthcare. Beyond her professional achievements, Raylene is dedicated to community service. She volunteers with East Tennessee Big Brother and Big Sisters, where she serves as a mentor, helping to shape the futures of children for the better. Her commitment to mentoring young individuals reflects her broader dedication to fostering growth and development, both within and outside the healthcare sector

Panelists:

Tom Tull, MBA, FACHE - Chief Experience Officer, Ballad Health

 Thomas Tull, FACHE, CPXP, VP and Chief Experience Officer, Ballad Health. Tom provides system leadership for experience activities for patients/families, team members, and physicians. Tom has been a member of the Board of Examiners for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and the Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence and served as an examiner trainer for the Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence and the State of Virginia Quality Award. He is a parttime faculty member at East Tennessee State University. Tull is a fellow of the Advisory Board and the American College of Healthcare Executives, a certified Patient Experience Professional, and a certified Crucial Conversations and Crucial Accountability Trainer.

Panelists:

Trey McNear, MBA – Director of Finance -Strategy & Special Projects, Covenant Health

Trey joined Covenant Health directly after graduate school and has dedicated nearly 6 years to the organization, advancing from an Associate Accountant to Director of Finance Strategy and Special Projects. His background includes an administrative fellowship with Covenant, where he gained expertise in operations, strategic planning, and change management during the challenges of COVID-19. Trey later served as Vice President of Support Services at LeConte Medical Center, leading daily operations for a 79-bed hospital in Sevierville, TN. Today, he oversees enterprise-wide operating and capital strategy, blending his operational insight with financial acumen. Trey holds a BS in Finance and Accounting from Maryville College and an MBA from Tennessee Tech University.

 

Ryan Youngblood, MHA, LNHA - Director - Clinical Assistant Professor, East TN State University

Ryan Alan Youngblood, MHA, LNHA, is a seasoned healthcare executive turned academic leader with extensive experience in quality improvement, patient safety, and healthcare administration. In his executive career, he held roles such as CEO, Chief Compliance Officer and Director of Quality & Risk Management, where he achieved substantial gains in patient satisfaction and safety.

Transitioning to academia, Ryan is now a Clinical Assistant Professor and Director of the Master of Health Administration (MHA) program at East Tennessee State University’s College of Public Health. Since joining ETSU, he has developed and directed the MHA program, emphasizing real-world skills and strategic leadership in healthcare management. Ryan has expanded the program's community presence and is guiding it toward CAHME accreditation. His teaching includes courses in healthcare law, leadership, and quality improvement, where he integrates his executive insights into the curriculum, preparing students to meet industry challenges with practical expertise and ethical rigor.

This program has been developed and is presented locally by ACHE of East Tennessee. The American College of Healthcare Executives has awarded 1.5 ACHE In-Person Education hours to this program. To receive credit for this program, your name MUST appear on the sign-in sheet.
